Petition group says it gathered more than 30,000 signatures to put the approval to a countywide vote and to require voter approval for future data centers; the neighboring landowner has sued the county

Notes: Commissioners approved the permit unanimously on Sept. 9 after hearings where almost 60 people spoke against it and three for it. The petition committee is backed by Broe Real Estate, which owns the industrial park next door and filed the lawsuit. The county needs 9,120 valid signatures per petition.
