Microsoft said it closed on about 600 acres in the Woodward Eco Business Park; the city replaced its council meeting with a residents-only session, turned away non-residents at the door, and police removed one man
Notes: Land is already zoned industrial, so no rezoning vote. The council still has to approve a development agreement and a site plan. The Iowa Freedom of Information Council says checking IDs at a public meeting runs against state open-meetings law.
